Yakov Rabkin

Yakov M. Rabkin graduated from the University of Leningrad and did postgraduate work in the history of science at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in Moscow. Since 1973 he has been Professor of History at the University of Montreal (Canada). He is the author and editor of several books (see below).

His work on the interaction between science and technology, on the role of the scientific instruments in orienting research and on the interface between science and politics as well as between science and religion has earned him a reputation among historians. He has written more than two hundred articles in scholarly journals, and his commentaries on international issues have appeared in magazines and newspapers, on radio and television in several countries as well as in electronic media.

Consultant on science and higher education for international organizations, he is fluent in five languages and is frequently invited to universities and Jewish communities around the world.
